The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role will be within the ADAS & Chassis Electronics section of Electrical Engineering. This role is for an experienced and highly motivated test engineer with responsibility for test authoring and execution on a range of test properties, covering the entire V-Cycle (MIL, SIL, HIL, VIL).
Tasks include (but are not limited to):
• Collaborate with the System Engineers (matched pair) to understand in detail the feature and system and software requirements and review these requirements for testability.
• Collaborate with the HIL Delivery Engineers, to define the interfaces and scripting language between the test cases and HIL library / services.
• Responsible for authoring & creating the Test Cases, Sequences and Scripts (automated and manual) from the system and software requirements, (including Diagnostic Part 1 and Part 2 Testing). After creation, reviews with System Engineer to concur fit-for-purpose and sign-off. Maintains and develops the Test Scripts with changed or new requirements, as directed by the System Engineers.
• Responsible for carrying out and conducting the Test Cases, Sequences and Scripts in accordance with the defined test request processes, compiling the test report and presenting to the System Engineers for sign-off. Skilled in the use of a range of Test Automation tools, Control Desk, IPG Car Maker, Vector CANoe / CANalyzer / CANape.
• Fault finding in test results
• Offer solutions on fixing failed components / vehicle
• Creating Design Verification Plans (DVP)
• Supporting scheduling of tests on components or vehicle
• Prepare engineering vehicles for test, coordinate vehicle rework and address any issues during initial shakedown
• Execute testing in accordance with test plans
• Record and monitor data to ensure it is robust during test
• Complete a range of functional vehicle tests


Essential Experience & Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Experience of requirements and change management tools and workflow, test case development and traceability
2. Experience of virtual test, component test and vehicle testing including HIL, Vehicle and proving ground environments
3. Development of DV and associated process and infrastructure including test case design, traceability to requirements, and qualification of test environment.

Understands concept of verification vs validation
Knowledge of system engineering principles, with understanding of validation techniques throughout all stages of the engineering development `V cycle’.
Test automation tools and test script creation
Experience of DSpace Simulators, Simulink/ IPG CarMaker/ Mathworks / NI, and other validation tools such as Vector CANape, CANalyser / CANoe, ADTF
Strong organisational and communication skills essential
Knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project)
Full UK/EU driving license and access to a vehicle that can be used for business travel
Must be eligible to work within the UK without sponsorship
Degree in Electronics, Software, Automotive / Aerospace engineering or similar subject, or equivalent industry experience

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
Experience of open and closed loop validation, including validation of systems using data replay and manipulation in a MIL, SIL or HIL environment.
Experience of automotive networking, diagnostics and fault handling techniques.
Problem solving and reporting tools (Six Sigma, 5D, Is / Is Not, Fault Tree etc)
Experience working with offshore software development teams and / or 3rd party ECU suppliers
