The Role:
Test Engineer Position Description: Transfer customer powertrain test requirements to test bed routines using automation or manual processes via test bed or equipment. Review data and produce reports from engine tests and facilities Lead reporting and resolution of technical issues arising with test equipment, processes and procedures. Support facility operational requirements within the Laboratory. Support Foreman allocation of manpower to test priorities and program requirements. Provide an interface for the department and customers base to ensures a high quality, efficient output at all times. Assist in the specification and procurement of new specialist equipment. Support meetings with internal / customer teams and external suppliers. Support test scheduling Liaise with contractors and internal support areas responsible for service support on test related plant, emissions equipment / test room and facility based equipment. Be proactive in all Health and Safety related matters. Support and provide technical input into the development of local procedures. Be proactive to ensure that the department maintains both ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards and accreditation. Use testing knowledge to improve test methodologies and overall equipment effectiveness.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
AVL test bed systems:- able to set up test bed system(s) and equipment to perform test routines. Define / create tests via automated scripts on Puma 5.6, Open and 2010 + operating platforms In depth knowledge of both diesel and gasoline engines. Diagnose faults on engine / engine electronics and test bed systems. Knowledge of engine measurement equipment. Prior and proven experience in operational test engineer role on Puma engine test beds and test equipment. Engine test experience. HND / Degree in Automotive Engineering.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Strong communication skills. Engineering degree, with more than two years relevant product or engineering experience, not including sandwich courses or business placements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Computer Programming Skills would be an advantage.
