The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
You will utilise your knowledge to develop and implement of test processes and facilities to deliver the safety, quality delivery and cost objectives.

Strategic planning and development and implementation of installation timing plans with key selected Suppliers also form part of this role. The overall responsibility of this role is to be part of a team of engineers responsible for the planning and implementation of new and major changes to engine manufacturing test facilities.

Role will be based at Whitley, but travel to other sites to support installation and launch activities will be required, including the potential for international travel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Good IT skills and awareness of Process Authoring Tool (GSPAS), simulation and virtual toolsets i.e. Digital-buck, Process Simulate and CATIA V5, Byteworx and Sciemetric Qualityworx
* Good knowledge of MS Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Project).
* Self-motivated with sound leadership and communication skills.
* Knowledge, experience and understanding of engine testing: Cold test, Hot runs and Dyno (audit) test and ability to analyse and interpretation of data output from test facilities.
* Ability to work within cross-functional teams and flexibility to support projects from early concepts to Launch at any of the our client's sites.
* The ability to lead, and to work as part of a team is essential, as is the ability to achieve results by meeting deliverables / commitments.
* Knowledge and experience of GPDS and LQOS deliverables and timing
* Previous experience of facility Installation, commissioning and product Launch.

* Previous experience of facility Installation, commissioning and product Launch.

With particular emphasis on the following:
* Development of test procedures in close collaboration with engineering
* Support engine mapping exercises.
* Planning, developing and implementation of test processes and facilities.
* Provide feasibility statements for Product Development designs to suit manufacturing build requirements.
* Ensure robust process planning including build simulations and FMEA*s
* Support virtual build events raising and championing issues where appropriate.
* Support of physical builds at workshop, pilot build and Manufacturing Plant locations, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
* Support test process strategy for manufacturing.
* Feasibility of design to suit modern test requirements.
* Prepare, issue and evaluate supplier request for quotations
* Test process & equipment verification at suppliers and at home manufacturing facility.
