The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
To work within the Energy and the Environment, IC engine research group, primarily at the University College London (UCL). Undertake testing activities to support single cylinder and rig testing. Work with the university researchers and JLR engineers to specify and complete tests to the required standards. Ensure JLR industry sponsored research projects are delivered to the highest possible standard in the required timescale. Build, service and maintenance of the JLR test bed and rig analytical equipment including daily engine checks and tests. Maintain full Health & Safety compliance. Operate to agreed processes and maintain engine and test rig data records

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Strong engineering background, excellent team working skills. Stong practical engineering skills for engine, rig and test facility build and maintenance. Work within a team environment. Good communication, interpersonal skills and self confidence are personal qualities needed to succeed, being self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Working knowledge of gasoline and / or diesel engine, powertrain systems and powertrain controls/calibration. Knowledge of engine test systems and software would be beneficial. Practical experience of working on single cylinder engines and test rigs.
Educated to HNC,HND, BTEC NVQ level 4 or degree level or equivalents in a suitable engineering discipline or have suitable previous experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Problem solving and analytical skills for problem diagnosis and fixing. Disciplined approach on planning, prioritisation and records keeping Valid driving license for use in the UK required Good PC skills Excel and Word. Ability to learn new software systems. Use of INCA, AVL CONCERTO and CAMEO
Knowledge of exhaust emissions analysis and measurement equipment would be beneficial
