The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Transmission & Driveline Validation department are responsible for completing validation through prototype vehicle design stages and during major vehicle design facelifts. This can take the form of rig validation testing, vehicle validation testing and collecting and completing analysis of vehicle road load data. Reporting to the Transmission and Driveline Manager the Vehicle Test Engineer will be responsible for completing vehicle validation testing to specific JLR test standards. This will involve co-ordinating vehicle re-work in preparation for test work, collecting results during test and summarising results in report format. This role will include travel around the UK and full exposure to a full range of JLR vehicles, operating within a dynamic, fast paced team of test engineers. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the daily workload in conjunction with the team leader. The role will also involve identifying transmission and driveline issues and communicating these directly with transmission design engineers/ management

Flexible in working locations (all JLR test sites).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1) The engineer should be highly self-motivated, a team player with proven communication skills and require minimum supervision. 2) Willing to adapt in a fast moving, exciting and evolving environment. 3) Manage test plans ensuring timely delivery to meet gateways. 4) Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and the ability to write technical reports are essential requirements. 5) Must pass a medical for hot and cold testing. 6) Prepare vehicle test risk assessments and comply with health and safety procedures

1) Practical experience with vehicle diagnostics and analysis tools such as Vehicle Spy, INCA, CANape etc, to identify specific engineering vehicle issues. 2) A working knowledge of transmission and driveline components/ system delivery and testing processes

1) Applicants should possess an HNC/ HND or equivalent, in a relevant Engineering Discipline. 2) JLR driving permit class 3 (class 4PG and class 3OR preferred).

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
) Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure and beyond normal working hours when required

1) Vehicle proving ground vehicle testing experience and an understanding of transmission dynamics. 2) Experience of JLR procedures and the ability to problem solve and think outside of the box. 3) Setting up and operating in car data loggers/ instrumentation.
