The Company:
Our Client, an international major oil and gas operator, seeks a Topsides Facility Engineer to join their team.

The Role:
The scope includes the fabrication and installation of the pigging and gas measurement facilities for the Companies pipeline. The offshore Angola brownfield installation activities are expected to commence in early 2013, platform installation to commence late 2013 and startup in mid 2014.

• The Topsides Facility Engineer - Brownfield will assist the Engineering Team Leader with oversight of design, fabrication, and installation related activities during development of the Brownfield scope as it relates to the topsides platform.
• The Facility Engineer will be responsible for providing specific constructability input during detail design, assisting with the management of interfaces between project team, contractor and other projects, assuring project plans and schedules are implemented, assuring contractor is adhering to QA/QC program, working with project controls to maintain schedule and cost data, working with contracts and technical groups on RFI and resolution of change orders, assuring materials are properly handled and available, and all other day to day construction activities.
• The Facility Engineer may be required to interface within BU, platform Operations, as well as other project teams for pipeline and platform installation during all phases of the project scope.
• During installation phase, Facility Engineer will be responsible for interfacing with the installation contractor and operations, assisting with gaining approvals for working on a live platform, SIMOPS and shut-in planning.

• The contracting strategy for Brownfield includes both reimbursable (engineering, procurement and installation) and lump sum (fabrication) elements, therefore good project management skills interfacing with contractors in addition to appropriate technical knowledge is essential.

• May require possible residency in the EPCI contractor's office during the detail design phase of the brownfield contract.
• The position may also require frequent business trips to Angola for site surveys and stakeholder engagements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Major Project Experience:
Upstream major capital project design, procurement, fabrication and hook-up & commissioning experience. Facilities and Process engineering background with brownfield projects preferred with offshore EPCI experience. Experience in analyzing vendor bid packages.

Technical Experience:
Experience in Facility and Process design applicable to fixed offshore platforms. Knowledge of applicable design codes and standards used throughout the industry and Company best practices like HAZOP, SID, Material Handling, Operational Assurances, etc. Able to effectively apply this knowledge and leverage Company SME's to ensure a fit for purpose design.

Experience withincident and injury free concepts, acting as a project safety leader, knowledge of Corporate SID requirements and trained in Corporate OE program is desired.

Team Effectiveness:
Experience in establishing team work plans, priorities, roles and responsibilities.
