The Company:
Our client, a major oil and gas operator, seeks a Topsides Lead Engineer to join their team.

The Role:
The Topsides Lead Engineer will provide the direction and oversight to engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction activities to ensure modifications to existing topsides facilities at the host platform are completed in a manner consistent with expectations related to process and personnel safety, health, environment, reliability and efficiency.

• Lead the engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction efforts for the topsides
• Be responsible for the planning, design, specification development and procurement of the topsides equipment for the project
• Provide oversight of the pre-FEED (2011) and Feed (2012) Contractor and ensure topside related deliverables are met
• Assure that the topside system is safe, operable, maintainable, cost-effective, constructible, reliable and meets design intent
• Provide expertise for offshore systems, including topside design, constructability, operability and reliability
• Supervise technical staff in engineering and design, where required
• Ensure that the topsides design reflects Companies safety and reliability standards
• Achieve strong collaboration with Subsurface, Operations, Drilling, and Subsea groups in Houston and international project locations
• Support and help build culture of value creation and through risk management and mitigation planning
• Participate and support development and maintenance of a strong IIF culture throughout the project and amongst all key stakeholders

• Position is based in Houston, TX, but will require 40-50% international travel. In Phases 2 and 3 the significant travel requirement is arising from expectation that pre-FEED and FEED work for topsides will largely be performed in West Africa.
• During Phase 4 the travel requirement is expected to be up to 50%.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
• 10+ years experience in engineering, design, construction and/or installation of offshore equipment. Experience with Compliant Towers and/or Brownfield topsides projects preferable.
• Good understanding of offshore facility operating practices. Experience with implementation of IIF work culture.

Project Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work in a multi-functional asset team.
• Proven ability to coordinate projects with multiple interfaces and stakeholders.

Personal Skills:
• Exhibits open and effective communication and listening in all directions. Demonstrated effectiveness in working with others in multifunctional, global team environment.
• Innovative with ability to develop creative project execution alternatives. Adept at seeking and applying lessons learned.

Planning Skills:
• Effective in determining own work activities within an overall strategy. Ability to develop priorities based on input from various stakehol
