The Company:
A major, international oil and gas company

The Role:
Define topsides project goals, objectives and critical success factors, ensuring that these align both with company corporate goals and objectives and the project’s commercial strategy
Participate in selection process for topsides options and input to the Basis of Design for these elements in conjunction with the engineering manager
Assist in the development and execution of topsides conceptual studies
Develop contracting strategy for topsides scopes during SELECT & DEFINE
Lead the preparation of documentation and the prequalification , tendering, evaluation and the negotiation processes for all topsides related contracts
Interface with other members of the project team (engineering, commercial, sub-surface, wells and operations) and external parties including host and export pipeline operators to ensure clarity in all scopes of work and agreement on project deliverables and the timing of these deliverables.
Develop the SELECT, DEFINE and Project Execution Stage Plans for topsides scopes and associated management system documentation in accordance with the Basis of Design Standards and Guidelines and obtain stakeholder approval of the plan.
Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance, including: ensuring effective implementation of the Project HSSE strategy and Project HSSE plan for the areas of the project under his/her control and influence.
Monitor topsides contractor and supplier performance and act quickly on underperformance.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to first degree level, or equivalent, in a relevant engineering discipline
Chartered Member of a relevant engineering institution (preferred)

Verifiable record in the successful development and delivery of at least one hydrocarbon gas project involving a JV Partner
Technical professional with a broad exposure to the E&P business based on a good working knowledge from opportunity evaluations and engineering/project management
Experience in engineering and project management with topsides projects preferably in the UKCS offshore including greenfield and brownfield scopes and commissioning and startup activities
Good understanding of E&P policies and business principles, with sound awareness of the subsurface through to commercial sales
Competent to lead a large multi-disciplinary team and guide, mentor and inspire other team members
Experience in a client/operator environment on projects in the Select, Define and Execute stages
Knowledge of the safety, environmental

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience of HPHT projects and technologies is an advantage
