The Company:
Our major oil and gas client is seeking a Topsides Project Engineer for a long term opportunity based on a residential basis in Angola.

The Role:
The Project Engineer will work closely with the Topsides Lead in executing all aspects of the project during
the design, procurement, fabrication, and hook-up and commissioning phases of the project. The individual
will be responsible for coordination of contractor’s FEED and detailed designs to ensure compliance with
project requirements. The candidate should have working experience / background in Brownfield Projects
and/or Facilities Engineering. The Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating activities amongst
the members of the internal project team and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
 Champion the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) program at all locations
 Function as the company representative in a contractor’s offices and fab yards
 Ensure compliance with the project basis of design
 Ensure cost and schedule estimates are generated; review / critique cost and schedule estimates
prepared by third parties and steward project work efforts
 Develop and coordinate detailed work execution plans
 Ensure design compliance to meet project OE / HES requirements
 Coordinate the delivery of project materials to the fab yards and offshore location
 Monitor and evaluate contractor’s performance in relation to overall work schedule, costs and quality
 Provide input to fabrication and installation plans for the project
 Interface with Construction, Facilities Engineering and Operations teams frequently to resolve and
troubleshoot project issues as they occur
 Participate in alignment reviews as appropriate with JV Partners and Concessionaire
 Participate in Hazops, risk studies and company assurance activities
 Seek out and apply best practices and lessons learned
 Coordinate required regulatory permitting and ensure project regulatory requirements are met
 Ensure appropriate and timely reporting of project progress
 Responsible for all scope within area(s) of responsibility from FEED to project start-up

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
15+ years experience in engineering, design, construction and/or installation of offshore systems and
equipment. Experience with Compliant Towers and/or Brownfield topsides projects preferable.
 Good understanding of offshore facility operating practices. Experience with implementation of IIF
work culture
 Demonstrated knowledge of project management techniques for major capital projects, including
scope control, cost estimating, cost reporting and schedule preparation
 Ability to work in and foster a strong team environment with minimal supervision.
 Must have demonstrated technical competence and leadership ability
 Demonstrated ability to communicate and work in a multi-functional asset team
 High personal commitment to achieving operational excellence, health, environmental and safety
