The Role:
The role is critical in enabling projects in the client to deliver Top Quartile performance by 2015. In particular it will:
Drive the development and implementation of Best Practice in Project Management standards and systems across the whole organisation including projects in UI, UA, Downstream, P&T.
In addition a key purpose of the position is to maintain, develop and deploy iPMS as a key vehicle for communicating these standards, systems and processes to the global project community.

* Developer for Standardisation and PM systems for project delivery across all projects, pre and post DG3
* Work with a range of stakeholders across the organisation in Design, Construction, CSU, C&P, HSSE, Project Services, IT, etc, to identify opportunities for new/enhanced Project Standards , Guides and procedures
* Working largely through others, implement PM standardisation plan across Upstream and Downstream, UI, UA, SGS
* Simplify standards/processes, maintain PM standards, communicate standards across the Upstream and Downstream community
* Drive the development and deployment of Project Management Systems (such as IPMS) required to support Upstream and Downstream projects.
* Provide 1st line technical content support for iPMS. System support is via IT
* Deliver content for PM systems through the project community
* Flexibility to support other activities and initiatives in Project Engineering, eg VIP’s, Benchmarking
* Roll-out, communication and liaison with project teams globally

Special Challenges:
* Influencing a large community of practitioners to implement standards and systems
* Able to persuade a diverse range of stakeholders to a common solution without direct authority
* Drive implementation across all Top 70/N100 projects ~300 without line accountability
* Maintaining credibility across many organizational layers, in many different locations and over a very diverse portfolio
* Work as a member of a dispersed team

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Project engineer/manager or project services manager with experience in pre DG3 and post DG3 projects
* Experience with developing or implementing project standards and systems
* Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas industry
* BSC degree or equivalent in technical discipline
* Level 2 Accreditation at SPA
* Good communicator & facilitator
* Analytical thinker
* International working experience in a number of different countries
* Drive and passion for business improvement
* Excellent people skills
* Familiarity with IT tools, systems and processes as applied in Engineering
* Fluent English speaker
