The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company which will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Saudi Arabia. Once completed, the complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. Our client will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The Role:
The Trade Compliance Leader role is a technical leadership role and is vital to the success of the Client. All trade conducted must be done in compliance with the applicable laws governing the import and export of goods (e.g., products, equipment, supplies and technology) in every country in which we conduct business.
The Trade Compliance role has been established to oversee and support our procedures and systems for trade compliance. The mission is to help develop and implement corporate, regional, and country specific compliance programs and training materials.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Provides coaching and mentoring as well as training.
2. Identification of opportunities to improve the performance of the Trade Compliance work processes.
3. Interact with other SME’s to optimize the Trade Compliance process. Initiate and lead improvement projects.
4. Establish best practices; assist with the measurement system development and optimization; identify and implement system design changes; assist with goal setting of individuals and department; provide suggestions on necessary educational needs.
5. Monitor work process activity and internal controls. Participate as requested on internal and external audits. Understand and promote proper internal controls.
6. Manage and implement compliance with applicable international trade regulations and requirements for Sadara (equipment, products, raw materials etc.) and technology.
7. Analyze and apply international trade techniques to provide Sadara businesses with a competitive advantage.
8. Providing international trade public policy advocacy to represent Sadara’s interest.
9. The purpose of Trade Compliance Operations is to comply with the trade laws, minimize trade issues, and increase the supply chain speed and efficiencies.
10. Partners with various Sadara functions (e.g. supply chain, procurement, industrial relations, security, information technology, etc.) to ensure trade compliance activities are properly configured and administered.
11. Through leadership and initiative, proactively addresses trade compliance issues, and apply creativity to develop and implement solutions.
12. Owns trade compliance issues on behalf of the clients and drives for sustainable resolution.
13. Actively contributes to the business goals, in particular for Trade Compliance, to achieve team goals.
14. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Business Law, International Law, or related field.

Competencies:
Goals are aligned to the development of trade compliance expertise, accurate work process implementation, implementation support of trade compliance implementation for our client with an emphasis on improving profitability and increasing the 'ease of doing business.

Capabilities required for the job:
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to be versatile and flexible with team members, business partners and customers, while effectively influencing others and managing outcomes.
• The ability to manage conflicting priorities, while acting in a professional manner.
• The ability to lead and motivate others through influence rather than direct management responsibility.
• Must have strong, mature teamwork skills and a desire to work within a team environment. Must be willing to share ownership of successful improvement methods
