is a large international operator working on major projects.

The Role:
The Training and Competency Manager will:
Implement the plan to deliver additional training and progress the competence development of the Iraqi Engineering Graduates.

Help compile and implement a supervisory training program that will underpin the development of Iraqi talent identified as a key component of the succession plan.

Manage, develop and oversee the training and competency development programs for Iraqi nationals in the Oil Field in heavy industrial trades beneficial to the Oil and Gas construction industry, such as Welding, Pipe Fitting, Structural Carpentry, Scaffolding, Electrical Installation both LV and HV, Civil Works inclusive of shuttering and Re Bar bending. This will be achieved by working closely with the local contractors to identify suitable candidates, agreeing a training program for the candidate, implementation of the training, delivering on the agreed goals while managing expectations of all the concerned parties.

Assist in achieving its Local Contractor Capability Development aspirations.
Implement training initiatives aimed at ensuring the Agency resourced Project staff members are fully conversant with the clients Standards, culture and Project execution ethos.

Responsible for:
First line responsibility for the Heath, Safety and Welfare of the students.
Deliver additional training and competence development of the Iraqi Engineering Graduates
Work closely with the local contractors to help develop the skills and capabilities of their local labour pool.
Develop best in class training facilities that delivers training to Iraqi nationals to internationally recognized standards and enables to create a sustainable legacy through succession planning
Work with local, national and international education authorities to develop training programmes
Weekly meeting with the Site Manager to feed back progress, ongoing issues, successes and requirements to improve the programs.
Management of all educational programs including developing a curriculum that will provide long term success
If implemented: manage the Skills Training Centre, its staff and its program.
Accountable For:
Developing training programs that can deliver to expectations
Personal HSSE performance and all HSSE performance of all training personnel
Generating the necessary reports and delivering to agreed KPI’s
Day to day management of the Skills Training Centre and its staff (if implemented).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The job holder must have:
• Minimum degree level education in a suitable subject
• To have worked in the competency development of industrial skills for minimum 10 years.
• To have previous experience in developing training programs and curriculum
• To have managed a training/educational facility
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite as a minimum.
• Ability to speak Arabic would be advantageous.
