The Company:
One of the world's leading private biotechnology companies, developing and manufacturing innovative biotechnology-based medicines for human healthcare products, with a focus on microbial-derived biologics .

The Role:
A vacancy has arisen within the Training Department for a Training & Development Officer. Reporting to the Business Training Manager, this role would suit an individual possessing a professional manner who has a real interest in developing effective training and development programmes for all levels of the Business. The successful candidate will also be responsible for evaluating and monitoring trainer performance (internal and external).

Some of the special features required from the applicant:
• Have a sound understanding of training/educational techniques.
• Possess excellent organisational and planning skills with a flexible attitude and approach.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to influence and interact with all levels of the Business.
• Be able to operate proactively with minimum supervision, referring to the Business Training Manager as appropriate.
• A keen interest in developing the apprenticeship programme for the Business.
• Possess the ability to quickly develop a technical understanding of the requirements of an electronic learning management system.

Essential requirements:
• Presentation and Facilitation skills
• Coaching, instructing and active listening skills
• Ability to assess and evaluate competence of trainers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Must
• Have experience of preparing & delivering training; preferably with a qualification (for satisfying Regulatory requirements)
• A major part of the role will be to assess the competence of our internal trainers so an assessor qualification would be good; or the willingness to be trained to become an assessor.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Desirable
• Primary focus of training going forward is Line Management and Personal Development so experience in that field is a bonus.
• A major part of the role will be to assess the competence of our internal trainers so an assessor qualification would be good; or the willingness to be trained to become an assessor.
• Knowledge of electronic learning management systems .
• Experience of working in Human Resources
Beneficial
• Although won't be delivering GMP training per se experience in a GMP environment would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of apprenticeships.
