The Company:
Our Client is engaged in front end studies, modifications to existing platforms operations and maintenance contracts, field decommissioning and removal. The company has some 2,200 employees. Field development with new platforms covering all engineering disciplines.

The Role:
Responsible for leading the training, development & competence function:

• Manage the training, development & competence team.
• Responsible for the delivery of learning, development & competence initiatives & implementations.
• Responsible for the capacity, capability & competence database and ensuring at all times records are accurate, current, usable and accessible.
• Working in partnership with functional, discipline and project managers on learning & development needs for individuals, disciplines, departments and organisation.
• Working with projects and clients to ensure all sites have capability maps in place and manage the training co-ordinators to ensure the gaps within capability maps are being filled with the appropriate intervention, within budget & in sufficient time.
• Manage the structured development programmes for graduates, trainee designers and apprentices.
• Responsible for the delivery of internal learning events including working with management on learning calendar content, working with providers/internal trainers on course contents and delivery methods, managing costs and ensuring events are co-ordinated efficiently.
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of competence framework.
• Provide training, development & competence input to tenders.
• Create, monitor & manage corporate training budget.
• Engage with ECITB and ensure full return on levy.
• Manage the selection of learning & development suppliers (e.g. training providers, coaches ensuring fit for purpose and aligned with our company values.
• Conduct internal compliance audits & represent the company in client / external body audits.
• Represent company & industry on external working groups.
• Responsible for company’s accreditations including ECITB and SQA approved centres and Engineering Institutions.
• Review, create and implement training and development processes and procedures.
• Deliver training and induction elements, where required.
• Keep abreast of training, development & competence and technical initiatives, includes legislation and best practice.
