The Company:
POSITION REPORTS TO: Deputy HSSE Lead

The Role:
KEY ROLE:

Provide HSSE Training Leadership, working with the contractor & project team to develop, maintain and implement the Onshore HSSE Training Plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES

• Establish a centre of training excellence to meet the criteria for delivering accredited and approved internationally recognized qualifications;
• Develop and implement a training QA/QC program to ensure continued accreditation from external Awarding Bodies;
• Oversee and assign responsibilities for verification and assessment activities;
• Ensure continued operational effectiveness of the project training facility and staff;
• Monitor the planning of the daily training activities of the site PMT & contractor teams;
• Monitor the progress of the site HSSE Training team in meeting their objectives and reporting progress to the Project Site HSSE Leads;
• Work with the contractor HSE Training organisation to ensure that the required HSE training process is effectively implemented at both the site supervision and worker level;
• Act as a HSSE training interface between the project HSSE site team and the contractor organisation;
• Monitor the contractor’s HSE training performance and intervene where necessary to ensure compliance with project HSSE expectations;
• Work with the contractor to analyse HSSE training statistics, identify trends / deficiencies and develop HSE training strategies to prevent incidents and bridge knowledge gaps;
• Assist in tracking and closeout of HSSE training related actions from audits, inspections, safety observations and risk assessments to completion;
• Attend Task Risk Assessments when required;
• Undertake a role in Emergency Management when directed;
• Coach PMT on key deliverables, including: Effective Safety Leadership; Safety Observation Conversations; Behavioural Observation Safety System and Risk Assess It, Talk It, Check It;
• Contribute as a team member during internal/external incident investigations/audits, and
• Participate in weekly and monthly Project / contractor safety meetings when directed.
