The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company which will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Saudi Arabia. Once completed, the complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. Our client will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The Role:
Our client requires a Transportation Safety Advisor, who will be required to provide all EH&S advice on the safe transportation of related equipment and process materials around the petrochemical plants.

Lead the implementation of Transportation Safety policies and programs, increase individual awareness and accountability and ensure policy adherence and consistency.
1. Act as the client’s focal point of contact on transportation safety.
2. Maintain a proactive plant specific program to achieve plant Transportation Safety goals and objectives.
3. Ensure the implementation of a detailed, task level, day-to-day transportation safety program, utilizing the EH&S work process, standards and procedures within specific facilities.
4. Execute the data collection; analyze and report transportation safety performance and compliance data.
5. Participate in transportation incident investigations/corrective actions process and provide recommendations/solutions to specific issues.
6. Coordinate the implementation of an assessment program to ensure conformity of the client's facilities with transportation safety requirements/best practices and identify opportunities to streamline work processes.
7. Review and provide transportation-related input to the client's guidelines, standards and programs.
8. Maintain an effective liaison with Manufacturing Leaders, Site Logistics and EH&S Excellent Results Leaders to keep them informed of trends in transportation safety performance and potential issues that could affect the client.
9. Conduct transportation safety related trainings for personnel to increase awareness and clarity of responsibilities.
10. Link to expertise with Parent Company to obtain a clear interpretation of site-specific regulatory process, regulations, laws and associated procedures.
11. Advise and provide support in emergency situations to mitigate the impact and accelerate the return to normal operations.
12. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 5 years’ experience in chemical or oil industry or related EH&S field.
• 3 years’ experience in one of EH&S fields.
• Excellent command of technical engineering English. Arabic is not required but is highly desirable.
• The ability to analyze complex human/mechanical systems and problems, and to obtain acceptance of safe design and operating procedures.
