The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
To evaluate and give feasibility to all new designs with regard to cut, sew & trim of leather clad components and flat cut carpets.
Provide the practical ability to develop and produce leather patterns and covers from concept to production release including trimming the parts and giving feasibility to the design.
To trim all parts required for evaluation and test purposes to defined production processes.

- To lead & implement best practice trim cover development for manufacture, comfort & durability.
- To achieve a successful hand-over of trim parts to Pilot Hall and Manufacturing.
- To lead the development and implementation of new sewing and trimming processes and techniques into Manufacturing.
- Define jig & fixture requirements for Manufacturing and assist with the design as required.
- To comply with relevant policies & standards.
- Manage stock levels, storage and re-ordering of own development materials.
- To ensure technological improvements are implemented & maintained.
- Build current production parts on request.
- To support management team in developing people, process’s & facilities in line with current best practice.
- To contribute towards the successful management of the department.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Six years practical experience of Automotive Trimming, Sewing and Pattern development
Some experience of the use of PCs and computer record systems
Some experience of trim shop management

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
An Engineering qualification or Apprenticeship for Coach Trimming, NVQ level three, is preferred
