The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
Responsible for ensuring that pre-VP prototype tub/body properties are built on schedule to the correct specification. The role will require daily supervision of the prototype tub/body facility for ground up builds and leading a multi-functional team to progress prototype properties through the production facility.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
• Ensuring that pre-VP prototype tub and body properties are produced on schedule and to the correction specification via ground up build or through the substitution of new or modified parts into the production process.
• Managing both ground up build and substitution of new or modified parts into the production process routes.
• Liaise between program, launch, MPNL, Manufacturing Engineering, Prototype stores and production to ensure the required program properties are correctly scheduled and supported through build.
• Chair multi-functional team consisting of PD engineers, production, MPNL and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure clear communication of design changes and special actions required to produce the prototype tub and/or BIW properties.
• Physically manage the process on the shop floor ensuring all instruction and modifications are completed to ensure the prototype properties produced are representative of both the new design and production quality.
• Supervise technician team building tub/bodies during build phases, ensuring they are trained to the required standard and working to process.
• Manage day to day operation of the facility and the prototype production to the required quality.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Educated to degree level in a related Engineering discipline or equivalent qualification and experience.
• Extensive experience in an automotive engineering role interfacing with production, preferably in a BIW context.
• Previous programme or project management experience is essential.
• Experience in a production complex environment.
• Broad engineering and manufacturing knowledge.
• Supervisory experience or the wellness develop.
• Ability to develop and implement processes and control systems.
• Computer literate and competent in using Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel and Word.
• Ability to understand complex processes and bring clarity.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with good communication and presentation skills.
• Process driven with a desire to bring control to complex situations in a dynamic environment.
