The Company:
Our client is a leading operator with oil and gas projects in multiple locations across Africa and Europe. Due to continued growth and to enable the support of operations we are now looking to appoint a Commercial Manager into a permanent role to be based in Uganda with regular travel to London

The Role:
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following key activity and responsibility:

• To provide commercial leadership, direction and support in creating, optimising and protecting the value of company interests in Uganda.
• To lead and manage the Uganda commercial team to provide timely commercial advice, negotiation support and delivery of robust commercial solutions
• Lead the Commercial Team in providing sound and timely strategic, commercial and economic guidance
• Management of all commercial activities relating to operated and non-operated interests in Uganda:
• Provide commercial oversight in all Uganda business unit activities
• Oversee economic and planning input as required by the business unit
• Mentoring of commercial team members and support of Ugandan nationalization and succession plans

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
We are therefore keen to receive applications from candidates with the following key skills and experience:

• Degree qualified in a technical, commercial, legal or finance related discipline – preferably to MBA level
• Significant and proven experience in upstream oil and gas to include all phases of the E&P lifecycle
• A track record in delivery of high value upstream commercial transactions and closure of E&P contractual arrangements
• Lead or key supporting role in delivery of commercialisation options for single or multiple high value oil and gas projects
• In depth knowledge of upstream economic value drivers
• Previous management of JV or commercial operations an advantage
• Understanding of financing and project financing of upstream, midstream and downstream projects;
• Strong leadership and motivational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both internal and external
• Experience in Sub Saharan Africa desirable but not essential
