The Company:
Our client is a leading EPCM company who specialise in providing asset support solutions across Australia and South East Asia including engineering, operations, maintenance and upgrades of existing facilities both onshore and offshore.

The Role:
My client is currently seeking applications for an offshore Fabrication Maintenance UHP Leading Hand Blaster Painter. The Leading Hand will provide leadership and technical support in blasting & painting services at work sites, and provide a hands-on, field based leadership role for blasting and painting work group members. The role will begin within 4 weeks and will be on a 4 / 4 week rotation, on the Bayu Undan platform in the Timor Sea.

Key Responsibilities;
• Ensure that all work undertaken is completed to the highest quality standard using approved offshore procedures.
• Coordinate with external & internal interfaces to ensure men, materials & equipment attend in a timely manner to the work sites.
• Facilitate pre-start and tool box meetings, participate in Step-Back 5x5 four quarters programs.
• Provide onsite direction and assistance for work teams
• Liaise with the erection and demolition of scaffolding leads to ensure worksite is practical and safe.
• Carry out all tasks to the highest level of safety, productivity and quality
• Maintain stock levels of products for work groups at correct levels to ensure continuity of work is maintained.
• Time manage all personnel under this roles control.
• Ensure workgroup members have completed timesheets in a correct & timely manner.
• Perform pre-start checks on equipment, report all defects and manage the site spares.

Discipline Specific Responsibilities:
• Assist the Fabric Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that all maintenance and servicing of equipment is carried out in a timely manner.
• Monitor slurry abrasive blasting using machines and equipment provided and approved procedures.
• Assist in providing all relevant documentation to the Fabric Maintenance Supervisor for MDR document compilation
• Facilitate Installation and removal of encapsulation materials as required
• Perform slurry abrasive blasting using machines and equipment provided and approved procedures.
• Maintain abrasive blasting machinery in good order and report immediately any faults to the supervisor.
• Perform Ultra High Pressure Water Jetting (UHPWJ) removal of material using machines & equipment provided
• Maintain UHPWJ machinery in good order and report immediately any faults to the supervisor.
• Prepare paint mixes and maintain paint mixing machinery in good order, reporting any faults.
• Perform conventional spray painting techniques.
• Maintain spray painting equipment & machinery in good order and report immediately any faults to the supervisor.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Ausjet Hydro blasting supervisors certification

• Minimum of 4 consecutive years demonstrated experience with :
• High Pressure Water Jetting equipment.
• Slurry abrasive blasting

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Ausjet ISI course
• Ausjet Blasting induction course
• AS1576 intermediate or advanced level Scaffolding
• Any Australian Standard level of rigging/dogging
• Experience or willingness to working within a multicultural team
• A good understanding of current work practices and quality standards
• Understanding of Quality Control management systems & their documentation related to trade.
• ACA or NACE level 1 (or higher) qualifications.
• IT skills – Outlook, Word, Excel – basic level
