The Company:
Our client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions the transmission and distribution industry

The Role:
My client is looking for a UK Energy Team Leader to ensure that the energy product is profitable, grows globally and will facilitate product pull through with other areas of the business
Key duties will include:

• Business development
• Develop and realise energy product plan including marketing plan; sell to customers and win orders to realise budget revenues
• Develop close relationships with key individuals in target customer organisations
• Co-ordinate and collaborate with key Group Account Managers and local Management and sales staff
• Deliver budget revenues and EBIT for the Energy Team
• Manage contract GMs, recoveries and fixed costs to budget level
• Manage staff including undertaking PDAs; recruitment, developing and motivating staff;
• Be accountable for health and safety of staff and their work
• Plan resource deployment to meet contractual commitments and to achieve budget utilisation
• Manage contracts to ensure successful delivery to meet customer expectations and that estimated margins are realised, invoices paid and Ts&Cs comply with directives
• Evaluate market potential for energy in target countries and identify attractive sectors to target
• Support the recruitment and training of local energy consultants
• Drive the local development of marketing and promotional plans and the sales strategy for energy. Monitor progress to ensure progress to plan
• Liaise with other stakeholders (Energy ISI, Industry Business Units within the organisation, country management etc) to ensure support is available for the local energy hubs
• Help determine the implementation strategy for the energy savings identified with the client and others so that they can maximises the potential pull through
• Ensure standardisation of the energy consulting product and that all practitioners are trained and follow the methodology
• Develop a virtual global practice of energy consultants which includes resource planning

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Chartered engineer with good understanding of thermodynamics (probably chemical or mechanical engineer)
• Minimum of 4 years in people management role
• Effective leadership, delegation and empowerment skills
• Understanding of business development
• Commercially aware
• Competent contract manager who has managed gross margins
• Previous energy consulting experience
• Prepared to undertake significant international travel

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Process industry operational experience
