The Company:
Our client is a major oil and gas company.

The Role:
Responsibilities
• Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts
• System failure analysis and recovery; insuring the consistency and integrity of file systems.
• Business continuity planning.
• Hardware/software configuration; and management
• Liaise with teams in Perth, Windows Administrator, and related team members; interact directly with customers to devise and implement solutions
• Technical support and general troubleshooting
• Manage and lead hardware and software migration and upgrade efforts of varying size and complexity
• Manage daily, weekly and monthly NetBackup activities with regular audits
• Coordinate with third part vendors and suppliers to escalate and troubleshoot issues
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelors in MIS, computer science, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years managing a large UNIX/LINUX environment
• Advanced troubleshooting techniques
• Demonstrate technical expertise with RedHat, NIS, NFS, SSH v2, Linux version 5 & 6, Solaris 10, NetBackup 6.5.4 or greater, Shell scripting (csh, ksh, bash).
• Ability to work within an integrated team environment
• Excellent organizations skills
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Fluent written and spoken English
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in an E&P firm
• Experience with NetApp (NFS, CIFS, Snapmirror), Networking, Data management, LTO and DLT tape drives
