The Role:
- Perform both fit up & visual inspections as per piping/welding ITP in all aspects of piping fabrication, welding & installation process, making sure both Norsok & Total specifications are followed.
- Assure that ongoing work is being carried out by latest revision AFC drawings.
- Ensure that material, welding procedures and the NDE procedures are in compliance with Project Specifications which are based on the most stringent requirements between TOTAL General specifications and Norwegian regulations (PSA) guidelines (referring mostly to Norsok standards).
- Monitor of all aspect regarding the piping & welding/NDE and PWHT related to all piping activities at SHI yard WORKSITE and in subcontractors WORKSHOPS.
- Witness all piping fit up, visual inspection
- Witness the PQR and welding qualifications before start up of welding production.
- Participate in quality audits related to piping/welding activities. Raising any necessary surveillance, if job specifications are not followed.
- Monitor the fabrication & welding work carried out by CONTRACTOR, to ensure that proper procedures are followed, duly qualified welders and proper welding consumables are in use.
- Issue and follow up of quality observations, non conformance and corrective action reports. Propose solutions.
- Ensure that fitters and Welding Operators have valid qualifications for the work they are undertaking,
- Ensure that acceptable standards of piping & welding fabrication quality are maintained and that repair rates remain at an acceptable level throughout project.
- Monitor performance of sub contractors in terms of quality and progress, ensuring conformity with both Norsok & Total project specifications and codes.
- Ensure that CONTRACTOR maintains accurate fit up, visual & welding records throughout the contractual period.
- Participate to Prefabrication Subcontractors qualification evaluation process in relation with welding.
- Participate to the constructability reviews organized by CTR and follow-up the actions register in relation with piping & welding inspections.
- Work in close cooperation with the Construction piping inspectors which shall also perform a general surveillance on welding activities.
- Ensure proper coordination with the piping supervision team, reporting daily with any issues & progress.
- Prepare and update on weekly basis reporting on piping & welding activities and highlight to the management all areas of concern which may impact the quality/schedule.
- Keep a record of all fit up & visual inspection reports that are submitted by CONTRACTOR, updating all piping

- Monitors the implementation of safety procedures and working practices by CONTRACTOR, in particular related to piping/welding and NDT/PWHT activities.
- Adhere to and effectively communicate Project HSE Policies.
- Proactively intervene where HSE deficiencies are identified and report.
- Being 뱕isible in the field?and 뱖alking the talk?with HSE as a priority.
- Attend Project HSE meetings, training and inspection as when invited to.
- Consult HSE team in the execution and planning of key critical activities.
- Attend Safety tours and specific Inspections when invited to.
- Ensure that HSE procedures & Policies are properly implemented.
- Participate; carry out JSA and hazard reviews when related to piping & welding activities
- International and multi-cultural environment.
- Position permanently based in EPSCC1 Topsides contractor premises (SHI Yard in Goeje, South Korea).
- Frequent missions in Subcontractors workshops in Korea.
- Large experience on similar topside at equivalent position.
- Familiar with NCS requirements (PSA/Norsok) and TOTAL SA General Specifications.
- Experienced in understanding and following all piping isometric, general arrangement & P&ID drawings.
- English fluent.
- AWS QC1 Welding inspection certification. NDT EN 473 level 2 or ASNT level 2 is a plus.
