The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
Fircroft have been asked to source an Upstream Environmental Officer to coordinate the field environmental activities and access the site conditions for project work.

• Work for a Coal Seam Gas (CSG) project owner
• Long term contract position (12 to 24 months)
• FIFO to Chinchilla (19/9 roster)

The Upstream Environment Officer will implement environmental compliance for project and ensure they meet relevant standards, regulations and requirements. Typically, the incumbent will integrate environmental standards across existing operating sites for field infrastructure development.

You will also provide advice to the construction teams whilst developing environmental compliance, regulatory and other environmental management aspects. The incumbent will also be responsible for communicating environmental obligations to the project teams and handover to operations.

• Apply management procedures and policies
• Develop compliance inspection schedules for demonstration of compliance
• Coordinate incident responses and sign off on corrective actions
• Liaise with construction supervisors on all project activity
• Report on a regular basis on environmental performance
• Liaise with the environment and permitting team to coordinate, prioritise and direct day-to-day activities

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in Environment, Science, Geology or other relevant topic
• Advanced user of environmental systems, techniques, tools and software
• Experience promoting environmental systems
• Experience researching, creating and implementing environmental policies, procedures and compliant systems
• Significant experience working in Environmental Approval roles in the Oil & Gas industry

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Member of Institute of IEMA (or equivalent)
• Chartered Environmentalist / Auditor
Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
