The Company:
Our client is a major Oil and Gas Operator with global presence

The Role:
• Assures technical integrity of installations throughout their life cycle. This includes responsibilities for the Technical Authority 1 (TA1) role for the Utilities, Energy and Heat Transfer discipline:
o Approves the list of Codes & Standards to be used for their discipline
o Makes decision or clarifies the interpretation of Codes & Standards during application
o Approves the list of business critical deliverables for their discipline
o Appoints the TA-2’s and TA-3’s
o Approves/rejects requests for deviations from the approved Codes & Standards
o Approves the adoption of new or as yet unproven technologies
o Reviews business critical deliverables requiring TA-1 endorsement as appropriate to their Discipline
o Provides a report twice a year upon the health of his discipline to the TA-0
o Participates in technical and compliance audits
o Provides Discipline input into the Statement of Fitness for the following areas of expertise:
o Water Treatment
o Heat Transfer
o Energy, CO2 and others
• Is accountable for exercising appropriate discipline controls for projects throughout the ORP phases (Identify, Assess, Select, Define, Execute)
• Leads Utilities, Energy and Heat Transfer Engineering support to Operation. This primarily involves providing discipline input as required into the commissioning / start-up of new or modified plant, the maintenance / operation / troubleshooting of existing plant and requires an effective interface with the Operations organization for Process facilities and/or Asset Managers for Infrastructure facilities
• Ensures high quality of the critical as-built documents and drawings related to the discipline for assets and for all projects
• Manages team work assignments, work load, work forecasting for planned project work for these projects, and ensures that the team is adequately resourced in terms of both capacity and capability
• Leads or participates in critical HSSE reviews
• Champion design integrity for the discipline
• Delivers zero team HSE incidents each year
• Manages the local Utilities, Energy and Heat Transfer skill pool, including provision of learning and development opportunities to develop local staff
• Sets and maintains Utilities, Energy and Heat Transfer Engineering standards, work processes, systems and tools, including IT Engineering applications for the discipline
• Contribute to Vendors/suppliers/contractors pre-qualification for Utilities, Energy and Heat Transfer services and equipment
• Continually seeks to improve ways of working to improve performance and to improve value delivery to projects

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• An engineering degree and minimum 15 years relevant engineering, maintenance and/or operations experience
• Recognised specialist in the global Utilities, Energy and Heat Transfer skill pool
• Significant field experience gathered from a wide range of locations
• Ability to quickly establish relationships with practitioners to ensure discipline engineering processes and standards are consistently applied
• Aware of & familiar with issues surrounding high pressure and high H2S facilities, and have managed staff in a similarly challenging high-risk environment
• Well proven interpersonal & communication skills
• Experience of driving business improvement in engineering, key words being: technology, fit-for-purpose solutions and cost effectiveness
