The Company:
Our client is a 180 workers Dutch company whose their product is Lectic Acid (from fermenting of Sugar from Tapioca) and Lectide which is the starting elements of bio plastic, cosmetics production including the food preservative. There are 5 Plants around the world: Netherlands, Thailand (biggest plant), Spain, U.S.A. Brazil.

The Role:
Due to the recent developments of the site (o.a. the new Lactide plant and Anaerobic WWT) the responsibility area of the Utility manager has grown significantly. Therefore we are looking for an experienced candidate with a strong personality to insure high reliability and cost control.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate the day-to-day performance of the utilities (Water preparation, RO-water system, Electrical supply, boiler, cooling water, Waste water treatment, sewer systems). Take actions if applicable.
• Evaluate and improve the performance of the utilities, take actions and define projects if applicable.
• Coordinate activities for utilities with related departments (Operation, Technology & Engineering).
• Assuring the operational condition of utility installations:
o Coordinate with Shift Manager to carry out cleaning/inspection and first-line maintenance.
o Co-sign acceptance of equipment at technical handover project.
o Participate in TPM initiatives, promoting initial cleanings, making improvement proposals relating to optimization.
o Participate in relate new investment projects.
• Execution of administrative tasks:
o Ensuring that production and process data for utilities are registered (duty logbook, batch reports, usage sheets, chemistry data, shop orders).
o Authorizing work applications and the purchase of small materials within existing authorization rules.
• Work safely, maintain a safe working environment, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Actively participate in safety initiatives.


• Education: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Technical Profession preferably Chemical Engineering or process industry relates.
• Experience: 8-10 years experience in an industrial environment preferable in management of Utility System.
• Thorough understanding of Waste Water Treatment System (Anaerobic & aerobic).
• Able to communicate in English and good in computer literacy.
• Able to demonstrate appropriate teamwork and safety behaviors.
• Good in result oriented, self management and persuasive skills.
• High sense of responsibility.
• Fast pace and dynamic.
