The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
The Value Plan Manager supports Manager Engineering Quality in ensuring that all engineering work in both the Company Asset and the LNG project in the ASSESS TO OPERATE phase of the Company is delivered in accordance with Company Group Value Management Processes. This will be achieved by:
• Management of the Value Assurance Framework (VAF) process for the engineering function and ensuring adequate preparation for Engineering Functional Reviews (EFR), Readiness Reviews (RR) and Operations Management of Change (MOC) processes through the appropriate level of Internal reviews and management reporting
• Ensuring technical compliance through efficient and comprehensive process of internal audit and in providing engineering support to the decision authority in the Change Management process.
• Providing Value Plan resource requirements (personnel & budget) to the integrated engineering resource plan.
• Supporting the continuous improvement of our framework of standards and guidelines by proactively seeking out lessons learned and capturing these in bulletins, and document updates

• Ensure independent verification of the engineering design and where applicable design process for all Company projects in all phases
• Capture, share and where possible incorporate Lessons Learned into the value management process as applied to Company LNG and unconventional gas resources
• Participate in the Project and Asset Management of Change (MOC) process in terms of engineering reviews, changes and approvals to ensure that compliance is maintained
• Provide timely and accurate data relating to Engineering Value Management activity to support the Manager Engineering Quality in his role as Single point conduit to Company functional lead and stakeholders for issues of Value Management
• Through agreement with the PMO, support the planning of the VAF process and its interventions and instigate the necessary process for communicating and preparing for all engineering reviews via:
o Management of all engineering input to the Company Value Management plan
o Identification and management of all stakeholders associated with engineering review activity
o Agreeing, documenting and approving terms of reference for all engineering review activity
o Resourcing all engineering review activity
o Recording and publishing of engineering review findings
o Tracking, expediting and reporting of review action status to meet management reporting requirements
o Generating & maintaining a system of knowledge management in relation to the Company and LNG Engineering Scope
• Provide timely and accurate data relating the integrated engineering resource and recruitment plan for the Company
• Establish regular meetings with the engineering management and project delivery functions at various levels: managerial, technically via the ATAs, functionally through monthly communication sessions
• Lead cross project/asset engineering focussed activity as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline and possess Chartered status
• Verifiable performance and delivery in 1 or more positions of multi-disciplinary engineering management or complex specialist technical activity within allied company or industry
• Experience of managing engineering during the project life cycle from concept development through to execution, with specific experience in a Brownfield project environment
• Experience in the application of regulations and industry codes and standards
• Demonstrated experience of building strong, collaborative relationships between a variety of parties with different priorities and perspectives
• Proven experience in identifying potential issues and providing solutions
• Experience in leading and motivating others within a team and proven ability to guide, mentor and inspire other team members to achieve positive outcomes
• Commercially and financially aware, with business awareness and able to apply these skills t

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Able to self-manage allocated scope and tasks within time and budget requirements
• Able to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome
• Ability to interface across a wide range of disciplines including well engineering, operations, contracts/procurement, commercial and economics
• Able to advise and steer business/commercial aspects, and has a full understanding of strategic considerations
• Successful leadership of commercial negotiations with engineering contractors and/or partners
• Strong and effective written and oral communication skills supported by interpersonal skills that allow the individual to work at senior and executive levels within the Company, as well as contractors or other stakeholders
• Ability to challenge others in a constructive manner and negotiate with internal peers
• Good team player with a pro-active and flexible attitude, and able to work in a multi-cultural environment
