The Role:
We have an immediate requirement for a Valve Engineer to join the Mechanical Engineering Group of the Consulting Services Department based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The Vessels, Tanks and Valves Unit provide technical consultations and maintain standards on issues related to vessels, tanks and valves. The major functions are to initiate special studies for improving facilities or operations; provide specialized technical service in recognized engineering fields; and act as a consultant on complex engineering problems, designs and projects.

The successful candidate will update valve standards and the Regulated Vendor List (RVL). Initiate and conduct special studies for improving valve facilities or operations. Resolve valve technical problems for operating facilities. Review and improve maintenance and repair procedures. Review design packages and provide technical support to new projects. Participate in technical study committees and incident investigation studies. Participate in value engineering (VE) studies. Lead in technical evaluation, surveys and audits of valve manufacturers and suppliers. Introduce new valve technologies. Teach professional engineering development courses. Conduct outreach awareness seminars about valves issues.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have the following experience, competencies and skillsets: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related degree from an accredited university. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration will be desirable but is not essential. Nine years of post-graduate experience in the valves industry (design, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs, commissioning, testing, etc.) Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices, calculation methods, design details, international codes, standards and specifications.
