The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Responsible for various analysis elements of Vehicle Distribution at a Strategic or Operational level offering new approaches and change within Finished Vehicle Distribution and its associated interfaces. Role includes Strategy & Planning analysis for world-wide Outbound Distribution, including UK logistics, but also interfacing on some overseas logistics options. Benchmarking the industry trends including using optimisation tools, investigating logistics equipment technology & competitor practices, providing a total Logistics recommendation / support and reporting to logistics Management. Conducting Go Look See visits across tri-plant functions, recommending / advising on new best cost and operational solutions. Supporting and creating environmental and sustainable initiatives and approaches for the department. Sourcing and generating supplier volume forecasts. Coordinating, planning and installing Distribution route changes from project start to Operational handover. Constructing & recommending requirements for Service Level Agreements (SLAs) & new business plans in conjunction with other departments. Developing & deployment of new logistics projects reports, presentations & recommendations. Supporting the achievement of the Outbound Freight Budget (cost-down tracker). Conducting bench-marking and transport flow synergies with other vehicle manufacturers. Supporting Distribution Systems engagement on future IT landscape change proposals. Providing inputs to Finance for local Business Plans and future projections on Operational Strategy proposals. Coverage of other roles during periods of annual leave from other team members.

This is a 40 hour a week role, 08:00 16:45 with a 15:30pm finish on a Friday. Based at Solihull, but travel may be required to other sites. Microsoft Office, presentation and inter-personal skills essential.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Candidates should be educated to degree level with relevant outbound logistics experience in a previous role (preferable).
* A proven ability on Microsoft Excel with the ability to run Pivot Reports and analyse high quantities of data to produce results.
* Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills are also necessary.
* Candidate must be comfortable thinking strategically and have first class communication skills with the ability to deal with people at levels above and below.
* Candidates should have a high level of self-motivation plus be able to influence/motivate others.
* Candidates must demonstrate a strong customer focus, coupled with a desire to make a difference and the tenacity to achieve results.
* You will need to be able to communicate change with compelling and persuasive arguments tailored for your audience.
* You will need to have good interpersonal skills, have the ability to multi-task, whilst managing changing priorities and maintaining focus.
* Degree level

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
*Proven ability to manage a small team ensuring that the coordinators tasks are performed within the agreed timescales.
* Assist coordinators when on holiday / sickness cover. Maintain and run daily, weekly, monthly reports and communicate.
* Investigate and put corrective actions in place for poor performance in line with escalation procedures.
* Contribute to Planning and Strategy workstreams for Finished Vehicle Distribution (Europe) as an operational lead for market / carrier / changes and "Manage The Change" procedures.
* Liase with IT and carrier IT for data transfer issues as appropriate.
* Deal with all carrier enquiries as required and coordinate follow up from stakeholders.
* Deal with enquiries from the markets Sales companies and Importers.
* Support the development and delivery of New Model Launch activity for European markets.
* Ensure that monthly archiving of shipping documentation is in line with process.
