The Company:
Our Client is a leading international forensic engineering consultancy.

The Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Accident Reconstructionist/Mechanical Engineer for the London office to perform forensic investigations. This candidate would work in the areas of mechanical equipment, machinery and vehicle accident reconstruction (VAR), with a primary focus on determination of the cause & origin of failures or incidents involving vehicle systems & components, industrial machinery, equipment systems, plumbing and fire protection systems & components, and common household items, as well as the evaluation of industrial accident and safety issues. This position may lead to advancement opportunities in management.


• Duties in this key position involve the investigation and analysis of system, component, product and material failures, and industrial accidents, for the purpose of resolving claims and legal disputes.
• Prepare oral and written reports that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation.
• Provide opinions and expert testimony.
• Other duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document onsite conditions and overseeing laboratory testing by third parties.
• Must possess strong communication skills and be able to deliver presentations to clients for the purposes of both litigation support and marketing.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and able to perform inspections in confined spaces and under vehicles.
• Must perform under pressure and respond to aggressive client schedule demands.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• BSc in Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of background or design experience in industrial, HVAC, fire protection or automotive engineering.
• Experience as an automotive or commercial vehicle mechanic is preferred, along with previous Vehicle Accident Reconstruction Experience.
• Registered as a Chartered Engineer
• Independent judgment, initiative, strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills are all required in this position.
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required also.
