The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
•To manage and control all aspects of Competitor vehicle and Benchmarking across VH platforms through liaison between Programme managers, Vehicle Engineering managers, Chief Engineers, Prototype Operations and PMT areas to deliver robust target setting and data collation within budget and programme timing constraints.
•Develop Attribute targets, benchmarking & reporting of vehicle quality & best in class attributes.
•Coordination and management of all benchmark, competitor and comparator fleet vehicles.
•Represent and build up new relationships with all other manufactures world wide.
•Develop & manage an internal focused vehicle Evaluation Team of up to 20 people.
•Conduct Vehicle Evaluation training roll out across all company departments as required including senior management and Directors.
•Developing processes and Test and development procedures

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Working with PMT’s to ensure robust DVP consistent with program requirements.
•Assist VEM with gateway reviews and preparing presentations.
•Lead Ride & Drive (VAG/VET) events and benchmarking exercises.
•Record and document plan versus actual to aid future analysis.
•Support other Vehicle Engineering activities as required.
•Create and maintain competitor benchmarking vehicle overview plan.
•Participate in failure mode avoidance activities.
•Manage workshop staff and resources inline with test programme requirement

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•PC skills - Specifically timing plan software e.g. Microsoft Project and Microsoft office software package
•Vehicle evaluation, test track driving and Level 4 permit trained.
•Engineering degree required
•A minimum of 5 years Automotive Engineering experience is essential from either an OEM or supplier
•A broad Engineering knowledge within the Test and Development field and DVP generation.
•A strong understanding of programme timing, management and planning tools
•Detailed knowledge of whole vehicle evaluation & assessment procedures.
•Methodical approach with a passion for detail with out loosing the bigger company wide perspective
•Team player, articulate with good proved communication skills.
•Working closely with a team of dedicated professionals and must be able to use their own initiative to overcome issues and resolve problems
•Logical approach to solving problems using Six Sigma approach.
•Must be willing to take on overseas testing requirements when required
