The Role:
Scope
This role is a fixed term contract for 12-13 months to provide maternity cover in our Vehicle Configuration team.

The Vehicle Configuration Analyst is responsible for:

Maintaining the product definition data in Bentley and VW Group systems to allow correct ordering of new vehicles by internal staff and the worldwide Bentley dealer network

Accurate and timely release of vehicle configuration to support ordering of vehicles

Producing feature uptake analysis for product lines ensuring accurate ongoing forecast information for manufacturing

Maintaining pricing data in company systems to ensure correct presentation of prices to dealer

Supporting production of marketing collateral via supply of data, proofing and production of order forms

Coordinating specification changes on submitted orders

Supporting continuous improvement activities


Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance of the product definition data (vehicle configuration) in Bentley and VW Group systems (MBV/Spider/BOOM) to allow correct ordering of new vehicles by internal staff and the worldwide Bentley dealer network:

Using engineering documents (Product Description/Country matrix/Colour and Trim data) set up configuration for all feature, colour and trim combinations, according to vehicle class and sales region

Maintain feature strings (PR numbers) and colour data in the VW Group configuration system MBV

Working with the product marketing team, define and programme specific rules for packages, dependencies and exclusions, along with accurate text descriptions to ensure seamless presentation of the product offer to dealer staff

Work with project delivery team to ensure accurate and timely release of vehicle configuration to support ordering of vehicles for pre-series and production build phases

Respond to ad hoc requests for maintenance of configuration data, including requests for specification changes on orders already passed to production and supporting manual ordering of pre-series vehicles

2. Feature Uptake Analysis

On request support the product marketing team with reports detailing feature take rates

3. Maintain Pricing Data

Update and maintain pricing data in company systems/database to ensure correct presentation of model, feature and colour prices in the dealer ordering system (BOOM), according to vehicle class and sales region

4. Support Production of Marketing Collateral and Web-Based Product Data

Supply key product information to the marketing communications team to ensure correct presentation of the product offer in marketing collateral and online configurator

Proof final versions before release

Create printable order forms for use by dealers in recording customer choices and correctly entering a new vehicle order in the dealer ordering system (BOOM).

5. Continuous Improvement

Support continuous improvement activities, including system upgrades and process improvements, working with Bentley and Group functions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications
Education to degree level or equivalent

Previous Experience
High level of computer literacy
Able to work accurately under pressure
Ability to communicate effectively with other departments and Regional Offices
Highly numerate and logical
Absolute rigorous attention to detail
