The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
This role is accountable for ensuring that correct product definition data (configuration) is always available in the ordering system used by the worldwide dealer network to enable correct ordering, manufacture and invoicing for all new vehicles and features. The vehicle configuration must be accurate and legal, and account for all model line, derivative, bespoke and regional complexities.

The role is accountable for providing the business with market demand forecasts for all current features based on market trends, to drive factory capacity planning in line with customer demand.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead on time, accurate and legal configuration for all new vehicles and features, to drive manufacturing and invoicing systems
• Develop complete and detailed configuration, ensuring full alignment of the core vehicle definition data in configuration systems (MBV) with the detailed engineering product description (Product Description Book, Country Matrix, Colour Families etc)
• Taking into account product definition at feature (PR number ) level, colour family and country of build
• Integrate feature pricing and forecasting
• Integrate bespoke feature requirements (inc Mulliner)
• Deliver cost models to finance for unit cost analysis
• Ensure timely release of vehicle configuration to the ordering system for the worldwide dealer network (BOOM) for all vehicle programmes
2. Lead forecasting of future uptakes by feature to drive manufacturing capacity requirements to meet customer demand

3. Represent the configuration team by influencing key business stake holders
• Negotiate and agree cross-functional processes and standards with key internal customers and suppliers across the business
• Represent the configuration team at key company meetings
4. Provide customer-focussed leadership to the cross-car line configuration team
• Ensure an effective, flexible and responsive service to internal customers with a consistent cross-project approach
• Lead strategic forward planning in anticipation of future trends (e.g. on-line configuration)
• Encourage continuous development of team members and team building
• Proactively drive continuous process improvement, including support for cross-functional initiatives

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to degree level

Previous Experience
Demonstrable experience of Group and Bentley Systems of Processes
Experience of managing complex data from a number of sources
Expert user in Excel
