The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role is for a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer in the Chassis Tyre CAE & Modelling Team, to support the Technical Specialist and his Team with the creation and issuing of tyre models (Magic Formula and FTire currently). The role entails office based CAE / analysis and development of Tyre models and tools, and in particular the validation and robustness checking of the tyre models issued by the Team, using the Multi-Body Simulation tools the Team's customers use (IPG Carmaker and Simpack).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1)Matlab - good ability level required, and/or affinity to learn and improve skills
* Knowledge of Tyre CAE principles, tyre models and their limitations.
* Familiarity with Tyre CAE models / tools (Magic Formula, MF-Tools, OptimumG, Cosin FTire, CDTire, etc.).
2)Objective data analysis / interpretation, and general data management
* Experience of developing vehicle models and CAE methods / tools, in particular IPG Carmaker and Simpack.
* Recording and reporting findings, in written or verbal format
* Willingness to travel on regular basis (including international)
3) Demonstrating a robust scientific approach and knowledge of design of experiments
* Knowledge of 6-Sigma tools and techniques (particularly process development and statistical methods)
* Good MS-Office skills

Relevant Mechanical Engineering Degree with emphasis on Automotive Engineering and in particular Vehicle Dynamics and Tyres
Tyre testing and generation of Tyre models

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Tyre CAE and modelling training
CAE training (e.g. Matlab / Simulink, Simpack, IPG CarMaker)
Vehicle Dynamics training
Self-motivated and independent working with proven project and time management skills
Good at team work and able to manage people
