The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
The role is to provide vehicle integration support to the Vehicle Integration Manager (VIM) in delivery of the relevant vehicle derivative engineering projects. This includes the monitoring and escalation of concerns arising from the product development and sign-off activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordination of Whole Vehicle Deliverables
Coordination of Whole Vehicle deliverables to support project requirements
Ensure that deliverables are understood within the function and that these are achieved according to the platform derivative requirements
Support Cell working, visual control boards and meetings to act as a deputy for the Vehicle Integration Manager
Support the collation and presentation of data to support Engineering / cross-functional meetings and forums
Support the continuous improvement of Whole Vehicle project delivery processes and ways of working

2. Support the achievement of product sign-off requirements
Responsible for measuring progress towards the product sign-off requirements including progress of cross-functional activities for specific platform derivatives, escalating concerns and proposed countermeasures to the VIM and local management team as applicable
Track Engineering readiness to achieve product sign-off to plan

3. Establish integrated plan for the vehicle release activity
Identify requirements including Quality and Manufacturing input
Facilitate cross-functional and inter Group discussions to collate requirements and establish agreed job splits
Facilitate forum and process for progression and sign-off vehicle development from a Whole Vehicle perspective
Monitor progress to plan, highlighting timing or technical issues that arise as necessary
Identify and recommend the re-timing or re-prioritisation of test activities as required

4. Prepare and issue regular status reports including the required KPIs
Prepare and issue reports on project status and identify key concerns for the relevant derivative
Maintain and publish relevant KPIs for the platform derivative
Development of new and existing reporting systems and processes
Taking responsibility for improving systems and processes where agreed

5. Lead Whole Vehicle's problem solving activities for projects
Coordinate the identification, raising, progressing and closure of concerns relating to the product sign-off by maintaining communication between the above groups to ensure effective cross-functional working
Ensure robust engineering solutions are achieved by use of sound engineering judgement and problem solving skills


- BSc/BEng or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline
- Preferably Chartered status or working towards/desire to achieve Chartered status
- Proficiency in German language would be an advantage

Previous Experience

Demonstrable experience in vehicle development activities
Experience of Automotive platform engineering would be beneficial
Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
Ability to influence colleagues within area of responsibility
Good business awareness and ability to make, and influence decisions within the business context
Ability to monitor and plan both project and technical KPIs
Ability to solve problems
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Understanding and ability to demonstrate behaviours in line with the Companies People Framework

Demonstrable experience in product development, including hands-on experience in an Engineering or Project Management role
Good working knowledge and understanding of Whole Vehicle activities, whole car release and validation
Understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP)
Effective communication, influencing skills
Demonstrable knowledge and application of recognised problem solving tools and skills
Ability to manage time and priorities
Ability to travel internationally and work flexibly as required
