The Company:

The Role:
Scope
Deliver Engineering Systems and components to meet the requirements of the Project Description Brochure. Responsible for the specification and design & development including test and validation plan to achieve the cost, weight, timing and quality targets for the project. Achieve engineering sign off for systems and components in area of responsibility

- Delivery of occupant and vehicle safety targets according to programme requirements. Planning and conducting virtual and practical testing of vehicle and restraint systems during development and sign off phases
- Support the design and developments of vehicle package and restraint systems to deliver vehicle level safety targets. Lead the Engineering test & validation planning and sign off for restraint systems and safety related functionality at a vehicle level.

Key Responsibilities
1. Support and Lead Design Development
- Advanced Awareness of Design and development techniques and technology in area of responsibility.
- Advanced ability to capture and specify the design requirements in area of responsibility.
- Deliver the Engineering test & validation planning and sign off for systems and components in area of responsibility.
- Support Engineering release and change management process.

2. Delivery of Projects
- Responsible for planning and managing project related activities on a Weekly Basis.
- Reporting of project status for area of responsibility in functional area.
- Intermediate understanding of cross functional working with other areas of the business.
- Active participation working with suppliers for progressing project deliverables.
- Basic financial awareness of their role in the organisation.
- Knowledge of cost of parts and systems with an understanding of value engineering

3. Problem Solving
- Ability to solve complex Engineering and design related problems.
- Analysis and management of several design related issues to identify the root cause.
- Collect data, manage data and analyse data to produce reports as appropriate and progress design guidelines

4. Developing and maintaining Specialist knowledge
- Responsible for keeping the local up-to-date with technology in area of responsibility.
- Capture learning from previous experience.
- Understand and maintain liaison with group partners to keep up to date with latest group developments

5. Ability to work within a team
- Able to work effectively in the functional team.
- Support of own contribution in delivering team objectives

Qualifications
- Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Associate membership of a relevant institution preferable

Previous Experience
- Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
- Design and development skills
- Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility
- Understanding of financial limits within area of responsibility
- Skills required by local area
- German language preferable
- Ability to solve problems

PRACTICAL & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of: Design and development; Test and Measurement; Engineering drawings; Software tools
- Understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP)
- Good problem solving sills and an innovative approach to delivery options and challengers
