Required Skills/Attributes:

classification societies and functional understanding of class rules
• Ability to independently track and gage vessel fabrication progress
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a project representative within a multidiscipline work team, fostering an effective working relationship with third party contractors
• Strong communication skills and experience with contract administration protocols, management of change

Preferred Skills/Attributes

• General knowledge / understanding of welding processes and inspection
• General knowledge / understanding of marine mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to maintain a positive working relationship while successfully influencing in key areas
• Previous fabrication oversight experience on oil & gas operating company major projects or vessels is considered a strong advantage


Client will be engaging a shipping contractor to fabricate & operate a number of Module Carrying Vessels (MCVs) to transport hydrocarbon production modules through the Water System into the Sea. These vessels are approximately 130m long and 17m wide and will be fabricated at multiple locations (Europe Southeast Asia).

The primary role of this position is to perform oversight of vessel construction processes through all phases from first steel to final delivery and to advise company logistics team in the UK of technical /
fabrication / delivery scheduling issues as they may arise.

Accountable for

This position is accountable for helping to ensure that the
deliveries of the MCVs are conducted in support of project objectives and milestones.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include 1) perform diligent oversight of vessel fabrication and maintain a thorough understanding of actual fabrication progress 2) early identification and communication of risks or other issues that may impact vessel delivery 3) regular & thorough reporting out of vessel fabrication progress / issues to UK based logistics team 4) maintain a “shadow” schedule in order to better gage and communicate actual fabrication progress

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum Years of Industry Specific Experience: 10 years
Minimum Years of total experience: 15 years
Must have experience working directly for client
