The Company:
Our client is a Major Oil and Gas company

The Role:

The primary role of this position is to perform oversight of vessel construction processes through all phases from first steel to final delivery and to advise project logistics team in UK of technical /
fabrication / delivery scheduling issues as they may arise.
This will need personal oversight through travel and also by utilising and managing three in country teams.
This position is accountable for helping to ensure that the deliveries of the MCVs are conducted in support of project objectives and milestones.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include:

Management of three small teams based in countries where vessels are being constructed
Perform diligent oversight of vessel fabrication and maintain a thorough understanding of actual fabrication progress
Early identification and communication of risks or other issues that may impact vessel delivery
Regular & thorough reporting out of vessel fabrication progress / issues to UK based logistics team
Maintain a “shadow” schedule in order to better gage and communicate actual fabrication progress

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum Years of Industry Specific Experience: 10 years
Minimum Years of Total Experience: 15 years

Required Skills/Attributes:

Direct & recent experience as part of a site team overseeing fabrication of vessels or floating production facility hulls
Experience with overseeing marine systems testing, commissioning and start-up activities
Experience working & interfacing with classification societies and functional understanding of class rules
Ability to independently track and gage vessel fabrication progress
Ability to work effectively as a member of a project representative within a multidiscipline work team, fostering an effective working relationship with third party contractors
Strong communication skills and experience with contract administration protocols, management of change

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
General knowledge / understanding of welding processes and inspection
General knowledge / understanding of marine mechanical and electrical systems
Ability to maintain a positive type working relationship while successfully influencing in key areas
