Our client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions the transmission and distribution industry

The Role:
As a Vessels Engineer you will act as a functional practitioner who will be responsible for the technical excellence of service delivery. You will have regular interaction with the functional team leader to ensure compliance with all technical, commercial, and contractual aspects of service delivery.

Key duties will include:

• Effectively managing multifunctional interfaces - internal & external (customers and suppliers)
• Demonstrating personal leadership & team leadership to ensure the delivery of assignments
• Take ownership of your own personal development
• This is a fee earning role with a high utilisation target and you must take personal responsibility for meeting individual targets
• Have a understanding of the competitive position of the team and use this to influence the offering
• Identify and support sell on and pull through opportunities
• Seek opportunities to enhance margin performance
• Take commercial and contractual responsibility ensuring compliance with company systems
• Work with customers to shape and define solutions based on a good understanding of the customers environment
• Innovate with the customer to deliver improvements
• Shape and align the functional offering to best meet customer needs
• Manage relationships with the client at all levels

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Min of 5 years relevant experience within a vessels design environment
• Experience of repairs to and life extension assessments of an aged plant.
• Sector knowledge should include Oil & Gas, Power and Chemical.
• An Experienced functional practitioner
• Knowledge of fabrication techniques and the Pressure Equipment Directive
• Working knowledge of AutoCad
• Experience with PD5500 and ASME8

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of presenting at networking forums – conferences etc
• Design verification experience
• Working towards Chartered Status.
