The Role:
Responsibilities:
Meet company's strategic development targets

Negotiate land usage rights and obtain community acceptance

Negotiate PPA with EGAT

Obtain all necessary permits

Government- / stakeholder relation and management

Ensure environmental compliance

Establish, develop and lead a Business Development Team for the development of wind energy projects domestically as well as overseas.

Establish business plans to ensure that Company's strategic targets are met in conjunction with VP Operations and VP Finance. Manage business development within agreed budget.

Successfully develop projects from prospect stage to commercial wind farms:
* In corporation with Wind & Site Team identify prospect sites.
* Acquire land usage rights and all necessary permits from relevant authorities.
* (Implement community outreach programs with landowners, community leaders and environmental organisations).
* Negotiate Power Purchase Agreements and Interconnections with EGAT.
* Ensure grid and transmission line availability and compliance.

Be up-to-date on regulatory issues, competitive landscape and overall industry development.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

Master degree in engineering (licensed) and/or commercial field from reputable university.
Minimum 5-10 years in project development (preferably from the energy industry).
Significant experience with EPC contracts including good understanding of legal- and financial aspects.
Strong negotiator, able to close deals and can see / create win-win-situations.
Good communicator at all levels and must be able to present at Board level.
Have the ability to build a strong team through empowerment and accountability. Offer people the opportunity to learn,to pratice new skills and capabilities.
Ability to perform under pressure in an often changing working environment.
Proficiency in or be willing to learn standard wind project software such as WindPRO, WASP, WASP Engineering, etc.
Entrepreneurial drive / self motivated / energetic.
Willingness to travel upcountry and abroad as required.
Good command of written and spoken English
