The Company:
Our client is an international Operating Company.

The Role:
Our Client is currently seeking a new VP (Commercial) to work in their Mumbai office on a permanent staff basis. The current VP is with the company but transferring to another location, so ideally our Client would like the new VP in place by August.

The role of the VP (Commercial) would be to lead Company commercial business delivery. Set commercial strategy, influence external environment where possible and integrate with Company portfolio position to maximize portfolio. To resource and develop Company commercial organisation.

Key Accountabilities
• Own and ensure the delivery of the Company commercial strategy, integrating with Company portfolio to maximise portfolio position;
• Ensure co-ordination and optimization of the PMT fields and exploration’s commercial activity, driving early integration of Commercial into business activities;
• Assure commercial operations, functional excellence and compliance with VAF. Implement and adhere to Company Standards for all commercial activity;
• Develop external relationships with key stakeholders, including Government, partners and Government owned entities;
• Establish an effective commercial organisation;
• Oversee the deployment and development of commercial staff across asset teams, with specific responsibility to ensure commercial, operations and asset management staff share crucial commercial knowledge, necessary to maximize value to asset bottom line;
• Line manager for C&P function lead, understand and advocate C&P priorities including transformation agenda at leadership level;
• Manage and support development of regulatory, economics (through the functional link) and market fundamental resources in Company;
• Support and advise Legal function to set the overall strategic and tactical approach on high level contractual disputes with the Government;
• Engage and contribute to commercial leadership activities in Region and Group;
• Oversee and contribute towards value creation from commercial activities of Company’s downstream operations in India;
• Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountability for HSSE, all managers are accountable for HSSE within their area of the business and are responsible for ensuring that their teams adopt exemplary HSSE behaviours.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Successful experience in setting the strategic directions for a major asset that incorporates all aspects of Company’s business, from upstream through to downstream;
• A positive track record of innovative business development, leveraging all aspects to ensure profitable results, within an international business environment;
• Demonstrable ability to successfully manage and develop large and diverse commercial teams;
• Extensive knowledge and experience of effectively using commercial, financial and risk mitigation tools and techniques;
• Evidence of building and maintaining effective business relationships both internally and externally, especially with governments and business partners (e.g. National Oil Companies) in a multinational environment;
• Strong negotiating experience, with a track record of origination through to closing of deals;
• Evidence of a positive commitment to HSSE, showing leadership, intervention and implemen
