The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
My client is looking to recruit a strong team leader for their picking and packing operation in Birmingham.

Key duties will include:

• Managing a team of 5 – 8 staff
• Ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe working environment
• Adhere to business agreed Service Level Agreements
• Aim to achieve the industry leading KPI (2% cost/rev.)
• Manage, support and develop the team
• Manage forecasts and workload/capacity
• Validate and maintain annual budgets on warehouse and outbound transport
• Manage all Goods-in / Good out
• Process goods-in in less than 24h
• Manage quarantine and escalate factual complaints to suppliers
• Liaise with inbound carriers to maximise efficiency and quality of deliveries
• Process returns in less than 24h
• Complete 100% delivery on time in full to delivery date
• Liaise and develop relationships with outbound carriers to maximise efficiency and quality of deliveries
• Manage stock to maintain >99% stock accuracy
• Report weekly/monthly stock adjustments
• Optimise storage allocation to increase picking efficiency (lines/h)
• Take responsibility for annual stock take without disruption to the business
• Maintain procedures and instructions to comply with quality policy, ISO9001, ISO140001, OHSAS18001 and SOX
• Maintain building and stock in a serviceable condition
• Run a continuous improvement program to improve on the 4 points above
• Participate in weekly, monthly and yearly management meetings

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to lead a warehouse team, and have relevant team co-ordination and organisational skills.
The site operates variable shifts, so the role will be working 37.5 hours a week between the hours of 6am and 6pm, flexibility is essential in order to fulfil customer requirements.
