The Company:
A leading international Oil & Gas operator

The Role:

The Water Flood Operations Advisor position reports directly to the Water Flood Operations Manager.

In the field, the facilities Site Engineers are the key interface for the role. There are numerous other interfaces in the field associated with normal operations activity. These include operations Shift Engineers and the Shift Teams, Maintenance Planners, Maintenance Teams, Contractors, and representatives from various departments based at Project HQ for routine visits and to accomplish site specific tasks.

This is a supervisory position with a strong coaching and mentoring responsibility and as such does not directly manage reports. Deliverables are achieved through influence, and this is heavily reliant upon the relationship the OA develops with the national staff at the field locations.

Key Accountabilities

The purpose of the position is to develop organisational capability, and rigor in core operations activities. A measure of success in the role is what the OA has enabled others to do well.
The position is field based, and the OA will visit the facilities at least 6 days per week. The majority of each day is spent in the field. Field activities are broadly split into project operations core deliverables, and ensuring the safe expedition of a wide range of site specific activities.
Core SOA deliverables include:

• Direct liaison with Water Flood Manager
• Drive common initiatives through the OA community
• Ensure that Operations Project activities are planned, prepared and executed in a safe and efficient manner
• Ensure that CoW Daily Planning Meetings are conducted at all project Operational facilities
• Oversee Operations Target deliverables in their area of responsibility
• Support Team Members
• Coaching and field based leadership on back to basics e.g. LO/LC, procedures, routines, CoW, operating within safe operating envelope.
• Oversee the implementation of day to day priorities across maintenance and operations; facilitating activities on an as required basis.
• Defining and implementing TAR isolations and prep procedures, including CoW implementation.
• Day to day management of product quality, carrying out investigations & implementation of interventions.

There is a need for constant monitoring of all aspects of day to day activities, and to identify coaching opportunities. In many cases coaching is personally delivered, but there is a wider resource of professional support to call on within project when needed.

OA’s are expected to lead and influence by behaviour and example, as much as by the spoken word.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Interpersonal communication skills are critically important to the SOA position, and should be demonstrably excellent.
- Extensive range of hydrocarbons operations experience.
- Experience of supervisory roles in culturally and linguistically diverse working environments.
- Capable of working autonomously, and organising time and resource to achieve work deliverables to defined standards.
- Personal behaviours and work ethic that leads by example.
- Excellent broad range of relevant HSE knowledge.
- In depth knowledge of control of work systems.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- 10-15 years hydrocarbon operations in a culturally diverse working environment, preferably in a supervisory capacity with national staff reports.
- Middle Eastern cultural awareness.
