(Position based in PAU, then the job will be relocated to Contractor's premises after Contract Award)

MISSIONS
The service holder is responsible for all the activities related to the Weight Control within the FPSO team.
The service holder organises, controls and coordinates the works relative to the discipline (Weight Control). The service holder shall ensure that all deliverables (both internal and external) related to the discipline are timely issued and fitted for purpose.
The service holder will participate in the FPSO tendering process (technical evaluation and ranking, development of the technical part of the RTA report) with regards to the discipline he is in charge of.
The service holder is responsible, during all the course of the project, for the follow-up of topsides weights for FPSO’s, giving advices and solutions for their optimisation. The service holder is also responsible for setting up an adequate reporting wrt Weight Control, from Contractors to FPSO Package and Project Management.
The service holder shall also ensure that discipline-related interfaces with other discipline or packages are dully dealt with and managed and shall take part to their management, as necessary.
The service holder reports to the FPSO Engineering Coordinator.
The service holder is also accountable for demonstrating an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSE rules & requirements and for implementing HSE rules within his area of responsibility.

ACTIVITIES
To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSE and to implement HSE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility.
To be informed of discipline-related Company Rules & Specifications (CR’s / GS’s), international norms and standards, taking knowledge from them to application to the Project.
To define, develop, issue and have validated all the technical documentation related to the discipline (General Specifications / Project Specifications) necessary for the tendering process and Detailed Engineering.
To participate to meetings/workshops with potential bidders during the tendering phase to clarify technical issues related to the discipline ahead of Call for Tenders.
To participate, for the discipline, in the evaluation of tenders, in the ranking of tenders, and in the issue of final Recommendation to Award.
To interface actively with other discipline engineers and other package engineers as necessary on all weight control matters, in order to ensure consistency of the work and for management of interfaces.
To participate in the timely review of detailed engineering (documentation issued by Contractor(s)), validating the discipline-related technical documentation / queries / derogation requests..., in compliance with CLIENT & Project specifications and procedures, international norms and standards.
Raise consequently necessary comments and highlight weight drifts, deviations, unjustified design choices, constructability issues...
Ensures daily liaison with Contractor(s) with regards to discipline-related matters.
Participates to weekly and/or monthly coordination meetings with Contractor as appropriate.
To set-up an adequate reporting system for control of FPSO’s weights, from Contractor(s) to Project Management, to ensure a regular reporting (in Project Monthly Reports), to highlight weight drifts and give recommendations for their reduction.
To ensure adequate and timely reporting to the FPSO Engineering Coordinator (progress, concerns)..
To ensure confidentiality of all the discipline-related documentation produced (whatever its support).
To gather ‘lessons learnt’ and provide feedback to other CLIENT entities as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Professional Experience (years): 5-15.
Experience in similar position (years): 3-10.
Level / Diploma: Engineer, or equivalent (Degree in Structures and/or Civil & Building Engineering)
Languages: English mandatory

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Technical knowledge : Weight Control / Topside General Layout arrangement / Installation, Hook-up and Commissioning / Production and Operation / HSE / Knowledge of disciplines in interface
Other knowledge : Project management (Budget/Cost/Schedule) / Team management / Knowledge of International standards, norms / Management and negotiation of/with contractors / Management of external studies
