The Company:
The company designs, constructs, transports, installs and removes offshore facilities for the global oil and gas industry. During the last decades they have become a significant international player in the offshore oil and gas construction industry. The Group consists of two divisions, each with a specific role in the activities of the Group

The Role:
Working as part of a large welding team you will be welding steel pipe and plate work for the fabrication of Oil & Gas and Structural steelwork. Welders are required to cover either MIG Welding, Flux Core (GSFCAW) or TIG (GTAW) Welding duites.

MIG/Flux Core Welders:

Welding to ASME IX standards in the 6G or 3/4G positions. Pipe welding will include 3" pipe diameter and upwards with 3-15mm wall thickness. Structural welding will be 15-25mm plate thickness. All welds are subject to X-Ray tests.

TIG Welders:

Working with duplex you will be pipe welding 3" diameter pipe work and upwards with a wall thickness of up to 3mm. You will be TIG welding in the 2G, 5G or 6G position to ASME IX Coded standards. All tests are subject to X-Ray testing.

Trade tests will be carried out in the most suitable position and process according to experience and previous Codings held.

Responsibilities
• The interpretation of fabrication drawings weld procedure documentation and weld inspection procedures
• Ensure that the welding consumables are in accordance with the welding procedures have been stored correctly and are maintained as required during fabrication.
• Carry out the welding operation in accordance with the correct weld procedure and current work instructions.
• Liaise with inspectors as required
• Be responsible for the accuracy and content of their own work
• Quality safety helath and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety
• Be responsible for general good house keeping and safe working practices in the workshop and on facility.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Previous coded welding experience and an ability to perform a successful ASME IX production welding test.
• Time served/NVQ 3 qualified welder.
• Experience within Oil & Gas or construction.
• An understanding of company quality , safety, health & environmental systems & programmes
• Communicate in a positive manner with shop floor personnel and discipline supervisor.
• Completed a recognised training programme e.g. time served apprentice ship
