Job Title: Welding & Material Engineering Service
Job Location: Paris
Rate/Salary: Negotiable
Duration: 1 year renewable
Residency: UK/EU

The Company:
A major Oil & Gas operator.

The Role:
To manage under the responsibility of the project SURF manager, the specification, procurement and the fabrication of the 300Km pipeline, associated structures and risers from a materials point of view.

1. To review functional and project particular specifications related to the linepipe and materials definition.
2. To review functional and project particular specifications for welding and NDT for both onshore and offshore activities.
3. To follow fabrication subcontracts (buoyancy tank, top and bottom tower, FLET, ILT, etc.) for the aspects of construction method, welding and NDT in relation with the QA/QC system.
4. To follow and evaluate the construction methods as established by the contractor, i.e. riser assembly, pipe reeling activities, PIP multi-joints fabrication.
5. To follow procurement of materials by contractors.
6. To follow fabrication :
- To follow the construction engineering (PIP quad joints fabrication, reeled pipe at worksite).
- To manage all activities related to welding, in particular PIP swage/weld qualification and all other welding qualification programmes, NDT method including all the offshore welding and NDT on the contractor vessel. To participate in regular construction meetings with vendors and contractors including for the activities related to the construction on the contractor’s yard if any.
- To report progress regularly to the SURF Manager, highlighting areas of concern, critical problems, drifts and dysfunctions.
7. To issue regular progress reports.
8. To manage, under the supervision of the SURF manager, the procurement of line pipe, if any.
This would include:
- To prepare the CFT dossier
- To manage bid analysis and issue recommendations to award;
9. To manage delivery of free issued items to SURF Contractors.

The service will probably be distributed in various places from Europe, USA and Angola.
The local content part of the work will be a key factor of the success for this project.
Availability for frequent missions mainly to Angola.
Position based in Paris, Offshore execution is in Angola.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Offshore engineering background along with at least ten years of involvement in offshore and/or underwater pipeline works, with a speciality in welding/material/line pipe fabrication, and at least one project in a leader position.

Good motivational skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Availability for frequent missions mainly to Angola.
Position based in Paris, Offshore execution is in Angola.
