The Company:
Our client is a leading global in the oil and gas industry.

The Role:
Based in Korea as part of the FPSO Engineering Site team.
The responsibilities of the Welding Engineer shall include demonstration of
HSSE leadership skills ‘leading by example’.
The Welding Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the welding contract
specifications, International codes and regulatory compliance requirements
are met.
These requirements will be demonstrated by review/approval of
construction plans, manufacturing procedures, weld maps, welding
procedures, provisional welding and NDE and the results of the associated
qualification tests.
The welding engineer may also be requested to conduct technical audits of
the contractors systems for the control of welding and associated processes.

Resiponsibilities;
-Be part of Quad 204 welding team and participate in the weekly welding team meetings
-As a representative of BP ‘leading by example’ on all issues
- Ensure that the ‘design intent’ is preserved in accordance with
technical engineering requirements and within Project quality expectations.
- Ensure that via document reviews/approvals that welding
procedures and controls are compliant with project specifications.
- Ensure compliance with the Project Quality Plan and Quality
Strategy relating to the FPSO scope of work.
- Support the Construction team and ensure that all procedural
requirements are understood.
- Work closely with the Contractors Inspection team maintaining a‘one team’ approach.
- Recognise and respect local cultural issues

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Qualification as an internationally recognised Welding/Materials Engineer.
- Working knowledge with AWS D1.1, ASME IX, and similar welding codes.
- Qualification/experience to NDE techniques.
- Sound understanding of the ISO 3834 standards.
- Experience with flaw sizing and engineering critical assessments.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous experience of working in Korean yards.
Previous experiences in construction of FPSO’S would also be an advantage.
