The Company:
A major international operator.

The Role:
The Welding & NDT Inspector reports to the site QA/QC Lead of the Project.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Monitor all aspects of Quality Control relative to welding during the construction in order to ensure adherence to the COMPANY technical requirements and applicable codes
• Witness Nondestructive Testing (NDT) activities.
• Review NDT results / reports.
• Provide weekly input to the QMS reporting system, with regards to trends and unresolved exceptions and problems.
• Provide early warning of potential quality problems and ensure non-conformances are identified, tracked and closed
• Provide expertise to site team to avoid/resolve quality problems.
• Monitoring of weld procedures (WPS, PQR) and welder qualification testing. Verifying dimensions, welder’s certifications material certification and traceability for all materials and consumables being used in construction.
• Verify that all testing procedures have been approved and are on site. Confirm testing parameters are duly recorded and that testing equipment is calibrated.
• Monitor the effectiveness of the Contractor's material traceability process.
• Monitor the weld preparation and welding process.
• Monitor NDE and ongoing compilation of weld records.
• Ensure non-conformances are identified, tracked and closed out prior to acceptance of the work.
• Witness Contractor’s activities and ensure Contractor’s quality records are acceptable.
• Review or witness in process and hold point inspection during construction in accordance with the CONTRACTOR’s ITP.
• Witness acceptance tests and perform final quality check prior to acceptance
• Review Contractor’s completion files for accuracy and adequacy.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Higher National Certificate in Engineering or High school graduate or equivalent with 05 years minimum of related professional work experience in construction and/or project management including minimum of two (2) years of construction activities in the contract's scope of work e.g. oil, gas and/or petrochemical projects. A college degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent is preferred.

• Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI or CSWIP) or equivalent. • Current certified ASNT Level II or equivalent in UT,RT,PT and MT.

10 years minimum of related professional work experience in engineering, procurement, construction and/or project management including 3 - 5 years of recent Quality Management experience on Major Capital Projects. Must be proficient in common PC software (MS Word; MS Excel; etc).

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Must be proficient at interpretation of shop drawings. Must have excellent understanding of welding, weld symbols and weld inspection per the applicable welding Codes. • Inspector shall have a demonstrated background and thorough knowledge of codes such as ASME, API, AWS, ASME, API, NACE, and ASTM required for the execution of the WORK. • Minimum of five (5) years experience in the specified inspection discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of construction activities in the contract's scope of work e.g. oil, gas and/or petrochemical projects.. • Must be able to read, interpret and communicate (both written and verbally) detailed technical concepts in English.
