The Role:
Our client is currently recruiting a Senior Welding Engineer.

Reporting to the Head of Welding Engineering, you will be part of the Engineering team interfacing with key customers. You will execute Project Engineering activities on contracts as required, ensuring delivery of engineering aspects of projects to budgets, and programme timescales to the satisfaction of the customer.

You’ll be responsible for originating checking and approving (where applicable) third party projects including; preparation of proposals; cost analysis, qualification controls and risk assessments.

You’ll be a Chartered Engineer with considerable work experience in a welding function, ideally gained in Oil & Gas, Nuclear or Chemical plant environments.

You’ll have a track record of successful delivery in either a project or business environment within the construction sector.

Duties:
Review of Third Party project enquiries.
Preparation and pricing of Third Party development project proposals.
Preparation and submission of Stage Gate proposals and costings for internal development work.
Management and control of development projects as allocated.
Control of site delivery of specified projects.
Effective liaison with client’s engineers/project managers.
Manage other Third Party contracts.
Assisting the Welding Services department as required.
Assist in Staff training duties e.g. Welding Supervisors, Welding Appreciation Course.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Chartered Engineer
HNC (or equivalent) in Metallurgy or Engineering disciplines.
European or International Welding Engineer.
Sufficient Years in Welding Function Systems Management, working to Quality Management systems requirements.
Client and Man Management Skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in Metallurgy or related engineering subject
MSC in Welding & Fabrication Technology or TWI Diploma in Welding Technology and Welding Engineering
