The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Welding Engineer for a long term contract within Kazakhstan

Location: Tengiz
Rotation: 28x28
Accommodation/Flights - provided
Day Rate: TBC

Report to Mechanical Integrity Supervisor. Interface with the Quality Management Team and Reliability Assurance Team.
Provide Welding Engineering technical support including but not limited to : Interpretation and verification of project welding procedural requirements, review and approval of welding related documents including: WPSs/PQRs, Inspection and Test Plans, Weld Maps, welding quality management procedures etc…
Provides welding related technical guidance as requested.
Liaise with Engineering Company welding engineers to resolve welding procedural and technical issues. Provide site based technical solutions to welding problems.
Assure integrity of the contractors and their sub contractors welding operations through technical welding reviews. Assist as a subject matter expert during in quality audits.
Must be experienced and respected as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in your respective field of influence.
Participate as SME in the development of Quality documents and Procedures.
Provide regular reviews, develop and facilitate implementation of welding related technical documentation.
Participate in training and staff development plans, mentor, provide guidance and participate in career development of Welding & Mechanical inspection team members.
Participate in Vendor and Contractor qualification process. Revue Contractors' and Vendors' Welding QM Procedures.
Plan, supervise and conduct weld related Quality audits, supplier and field reviews of work practices, inspections and documentation to ensure Contractors, Suppliers, and Subcontractors execution according to approved procedures, codes, specifications and regulations.
Play active role in effectively implementing Operational Excellence, Value Improving, and Preventive Action Team Programs. Proactively identify and assist in applying Best Practices and Lessons Learned and gaining implementation of actions necessary to improve performance.
Prepare periodic reports for Mechanical Integrity Supervisor.
Play active role in deployment of safety culture.
Ensure implementation and compliance of all CONTRACTOR and safety programs (CHESM, BBS etc).Participate in BBS program and other Safety initiatives.
Remain knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures and perform assigned duties in a safe manner and, while leading others.
Employ Mechanical Integrity Team Values to achieve continuous improvement and performance excellence including establishment of team member roles, responsibilities, standards and expectations.
Profile and Key Selection Criteria
Degree Graduate Welding Engineer or Degree Graduate Materials Engineering with a strong Welding related Background. CEng (chartered Engineer) or IEng (Incorporated Engineer) are preferable.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with a minimum of 5 years as a Welding Engineer.
Extensive experience of International Standards relative to Welding Procedure and Welder Performance qualification.
Highly motivated individual with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Extensive experience within the welding industry. Preferred experience in the Oil & Gas Industry with experience of welding for Sour Service environments.
Previous experience in Welding and Quality related environment.
Knowledge of all welding processes and their application.
Familiar with International codes including ASME, API, ASTM, NACE, EN/ISO
Broad based fabrication experience is essential and should have some exposure to at least two of the following: piping, pressure vessels, equipment Rotating and Static, storage tanks and pipelines.
Experience with the welding of C/Mn steels, LTCS, Stainless Steels and Nickel Alloys essential.
Must be familiar with the application and limitation of NDT methods although formal qualification is not required.
